My Gotcha Moment!!

2:00AM!! Ericka is still a happy camper!
After a sightseeing day in Beijing, we flew out this morning excited about our gotcha day! Due to a snowstorm in Beijing, we were stuck in the airport for 3 hours. When we arrived in Nanchang, we were met with our wonderful guide Jane and escorted to our hotel, the Galatic Peace. The “Gotcha Moment” happen a little bit after 4:00pm.. Ericka came to us all bundle up in layers.. her cheek was so red… she had so much clothes on that it was a little hard for us to hold her.. When they orphanage staff handle her to us, she didn’t cry at all.. she just kept staring at me and David.. needless to say that the moment was absolutely magical.. I feel that she connected with us right away..
Back the hotel, we removed all the layers that Ericka was wearing.. she had a total of 10 layers, not counting the 2 hats and 3 pair of socks.. we played with her a bit and fed her.. she started to get cranky and I figured that it must be nap time.. I put her in the crib, pat her back and sang to her.. it took about 5 minutes for her to fall asleep.. She woke up around 8:00pm.. we gave her a shower, fed her and she went back to sleep again.. she woke up again around 2:00am and we did the same routine.. she is just too cute!! When she smiles and look at us and when she start doing her baby talks, my heart just melt.. I already love her too much!
